[a note from Dr. Hopkins]

On the morning of Monday, November 10 many students along with local veterans and guests filled the gymnasium for the purpose of celebrating Veterans' Day. Primary students at East, Grafton, and West also celebrated in their own creative ways. In the afternoon, many community members gathered at the court house lawn to commemorate the county's 175th anniversary. The Jersey Community High School band played and the choir sang at this event. Students also played a role by placing a packet of letters in the time capsule to be exhumed in 2039.  The following morning, even with a sudden drop in temperature, the Jersey Community High School band, FFA students, Boy Scout troops, and veterans marched proudly in the Veterans' Day parade. Again, many community members came out in support of all men and women who served.

Mrs. Taul along with the JCHS choir, Mrs. Bittles and the JCHS band, Mr. Goetten and the FFA officers and members, and Mr. Schroeder and the audio crew, put in a lot of time and miles these past few days. I am so very grateful! Thank you, Mr. Beauchamp and the theatre students for facilitating the program. It was wonderful! Thank you JCHS administration, custodial and secretarial staff for your organization and coordination efforts, to the many teachers who led the planning for and students who played a part in the Terquasquicentennial Celebration, to Mr. Breden for coordinating transportation for students and staff to and from all events, and to Chief Warrant Officer, Darrel Eickoff, for his powerful and positive message shared with all who attended the Veterans' Day assembly. I am so appreciative!

Before featuring the video, I would also like to say
THANK YOU to the staff, students, and administration of Jersey Community Unit School District 100 - for the organization, coordination, support and very respectful participation in all events that took place this week. Success of these programs would not be possible without the staff’s commitment to model for students and the students’ display of exemplary behavior during all events. The Commitment to Community and Just Be Jersey ways continue to show through in all you do!

Again, I thank you for that!
